Application Analysis

Understanding your needs prior to commencing with a software development project is critical. The Analysis process, or in our nomenclature, the Crystallization Process is the foundation for everything that we develop. Whether it is for the creation of a complex, large-scale application for the financial services industry or a seemingly straight-forward corporate website, our process starts with a thorough, albeit task appropriate, set of questions. Our goal is to ensure that both of our teams have thought through the problem, and are collectively formulating a solution that will reflect not only the most obvious, immediate needs, but also be supportive of your longer term requirements.

What are we trying to build? What level of sophistication does the applications’ user community have? Why are they using your application? Who will be managing, maintaining and extending the application? What are the performance characteristics that it will need to adhere to? Will users be interacting with the application on an infrequent ad-hoc basis, or will it serve as one of their principal tools? All of these questions (and a host of others) are critical to appropriately analyzing the requirements associated with the creation of application. The old adage, “There isn’t enough time to do it correctly, but there is enough time to do it twice” holds. Without an appropriately thought out Analysis Phase, it’s pretty unlikely that you end with an application that fully realizes your goals.
